About

In the very heart of Lukhovitsy, on Gorky Street, the exhibition hall of the Historical and Art Museum has been living its own special, warm existence for more than two decades. Having opened on June 18, 2000, it has become not just a platform for exhibitions, but a real cultural nest where creativity, tradition and lively human communication are intertwined.

Time flows differently here. The walls of the hall seem to absorb the voices of artists, the music of evenings, the whispers of literary drawing rooms and lively conversations at meetings with interesting people. The space breathes art: sometimes restrained and profound — at exhibitions of masters from Lukhovitsy, Kolomna, Zaraysk, then joyful and playful — during festive events, where every occasion becomes an occasion for creativity.

A special magic is born in the halls when children come here. The creative association Fantasia opens up a world for them where they can not just watch, but create: sculpt, draw, try different techniques, trusting their hand and imagination. Adults also find their own corner of inspiration here — at master classes, where, under the guidance of mentors, small masterpieces are born for Easter, March 8, February 23 and other significant dates.

There is no cold formality in this space — only hospitality and a desire to share beauty. Here you can hear an old melody performed live, immerse yourself in the atmosphere of an Orthodox lecture, read poetry in a circle of like-minded people, or just linger by the painting, feeling how something inside responds to the color, line, and image.

The exhibition hall is not a repository of frozen forms, but a pulsating organism that grows with the city. He remembers thousands of looks, smiles, and hands touching art, and continues to write his story, inviting everyone to become a part of it.

The Beloomut Museum was opened in 2017 as a department of the Lukhovitsy Historical and Art Museum. The exhibition is held in four halls: two are dedicated to local crafts ("Peasant hut"; "Merchant hut"; "Sartorial craft"; "Carpentry"; "Heritage of sartorial business"; "Trade"; "Royal fishermen", etc.) and famous residents (N.I. Nadezhdin, N.P. Ogarev, P.I.Kelin), the third and fourth — paintings (including works by the Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Viktor Petrov).

"Rybatskaya Sloboda" is the name of the museum in the village of Lovtsy, consonant with the name of the place of resettlement of the "royal fish fishermen" from the banks of the Oka River on the outskirts of St. Petersburg. The exhibition contains several stories of the village at once: the first fishermen resettled by Peter the Great in St. Petersburg, merchant families, details of the life of peasants with a unique collection of cooperage tools, the history of fellow villagers who went to the Great Patriotic War, and modern celebrities of the village.
